Andy uses his diverse legal background to help navigate a wide variety of real estate and property issues.
Andy spent his initial years practicing personal injury defense, which quickly provided extensive experience in all aspects of litigation. The next phase of his practice applied that litigation expertise to general property, zoning, and construction litigation. Currently his focus is assisting clients facing issues such as boundary disputes, title defects, zoning, purchases and sales of real estate, partitions, easements and access, construction, and HOA/deed restrictions. He seeks to quickly identify the primary issues and works to resolve them before litigation is needed. He continues to work closely with the firm’s litigation team when clients are forced to litigate.
Andy is also a trained mediator and assists attorneys in resolving disputes both within and outside the court system.
He maintains a blog examining real property law issues in northern Michigan.
Andy lives in Traverse City with his wife Jenni and their five children. He is on the Board of Directors of the Grand Traverse Conservation District and several non-profit organizations.
